TRAVEL TO RHODES, GREECE

Getting There:


• By Air:

The main airport is Rhodes International Airport (RHO). It has direct flights from major European cities, especially during tourist season (April–October).

From Athens, daily domestic flights (~1 hour) are available via Aegean Airlines, Sky Express, and others.


• By Ferry:

Rhodes is connected to the Greek mainland (Piraeus port in Athens) and other Dodecanese islands (Kos, Kalymnos, etc.) by regular ferries.

Piraeus–Rhodes: ~12–15 hours by ferry.

 

VISA REQUIREMENTS

Schengen Visa

Greece is part of the Schengen Area, so the visa rules follow Schengen regulations.


Visa-Exempt Countries

Citizens of the following do NOT need a visa for stays up to 90 days within 180 days:

• EU/EEA/Schengen countries

• USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand

• Japan, South Korea, Israel, UAE, etc.

Visa-Required Countries

Citizens of countries like India, China, Pakistan, Nigeria, South Africa, etc., need to

apply for a Schengen visa at the Greek consulate or visa center in their country.


Documents Required for Schengen Visa to Greece

• Completed Schengen visa application form

• Valid passport (issued within 10 years, valid at least 3 months after departure)

• Two passport-sized photos

• Travel itinerary (flight and accommodation bookings)

• Travel insurance covering €30,000

• Proof of financial means (bank statements, sponsorship letter, etc.)

• Proof of employment or university enrollment

• Invitation letter (for the conference)

Apply at least 15 working days before your travel date; earlier is better (up to 6 months in advance).
