Special Session 14
Since the invention of Friction Stir Welding (FSW) by TWI, UK in 1991, this solid state joining technology has been widely adopted in many branches of manufacturing and engineering. Up till now, it covers wide range of applications from consumer electronics to space shuttle. Some of the physics behind the process and the joint material, however are still not known to researchers. It is hope that this session will bring the FSW research community together and discuss recent findings on their research. Research on friction stir spot welding (FSSW) and friction stir processing (FSP) are also invited to this session.
The topics should cover friction stir spot welding and friction stir processing as well.
