Special Session 5
ADHESIVE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (SS5)

The session aims at a broad coverage of all related aspects of joint mechanics but all subjects under the scope of adhesion science and technology are welcomed, such as adhesion science, surface chemistry, testing methods, adhesives characterization and long-time degradation.

Topics:

  • fundamental aspects of adhesion,
  • advances in structural adhesives,
  • sealants,
  • testing procedures and standardization,
  • manufacturing technology,
  • design of bonded joints,
  • local techniques for strength improvement,
  • analytical and numerical strength prediction,
  • industrial applications,
  • biomedical applications,
  • environmental degradation.
